Now Canon takes remote pan and tilt into the HD era. The Caanon BU-40H is a new remote control pan-tilt camera which provides superb HD footage in such outdoor broadcast situations as concerts and sporting events, news outside key locations and, of course, reality TV.

The BU-40H lets the operator remotely control almost as many camera functions as he could with a BOX type camera - such as pan & tilt of the platform, zoom & focus of the lens - to obtain a readily adjustable high detail HD image.

The BU-40H lets the operator remotely control almost as many camera functions as he could with a BOX type camera - such as pan & tilt of the platform, zoom & focus of the lens - to obtain a readily adjustable high detail HD image.
It comes equipped with a 20x high-performance optical zoom video lens - with a 2/3 conversion you can shoot at 8.25mm wide to a 165mm close-up. All from dimensions of just 386mm(W), 390mm(H), 337mm(L), and a weight of 17kg .

High-definition television standardBy adopting a 3CCD system with a 1/3" total of ~1.67 million pixels (effective pixels 1440 x 1080), the BU-40H achieves the highest level of HDV standard in high resolution . Excellent unity and colour reproduction is guaranteed by the "DIGIC DV II" image engine.

The BU-40H enables HD/SD-SDI output that supports non-compressed output
such as embedded audio. As HD-SDI signal and SD signal (VBS) can be output simultaneously, the HD-SDI can be used as the main line system and the SD signal as a monitoring system. Moreover, thanks to the onboard GENLOCK function (HD (3 values)/ SD (BB)) the image system can work in sync.

Thanks to its low-priced yet high efficient spread-type outdoor platform, the BU-40H is fully configurable to meet any budget. It will bring your remote shooting up to the HD standard effectively and painlessly.

Panasonic, the leading global manufacturer of consumer electronics and home appliances, has announced that it has recently introduced to the Middle East market two new 3CCD full-HD camcorders - the HDC-SD5 and the HDC-SX5 - as part of its initiatives to address the emerging demand for high-definition video products.

The HDC-SD5 debuts as the world's smallest and lightest 3CCD full-HD camcorder, while the HDC-SX5 is a hybrid model that can record motion images onto both SDHC/SD Memory Cards and DVD discs. The new models can record full-HD video on 1920 x 1080 pixels, and also feature Panasonic's original 3CCD camera system, which has earned high acclaim among professional broadcast camcorders.

The new models also employ the high-image-quality AVCHD format, and are equipped with Panasonic's newly developed Advanced O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which allows users to record clear, beautiful, blur-free images with vibrant colors. When viewed on a high-quality, large-screen TV, both the SD5 and SX5 offer breathtaking video quality.

"With broadcasters increasingly switching to high definition, as well as a growing market for large-screen, high-image-quality TV, video products have evolved along this trend and are steadily moving towards high definition. As a manufacturer of industry-leading video equipment, Panasonic has introduced the HDC-SD5 and the HDC-SX5 to address this demand and provide the market with excellent choices to enjoy high-definition recording and viewing,"

said Yasuo Kimoto, Product Manager, Panasonic Marketing Middle East.

The HDC-SD5 records on SDHC/SD Memory Cards and is much smaller than its predecessor, Panasonic's SD1. As it features no mechanical drive mechanism, the SD5 offers outstanding resistance to impact, while its compact body gives the unit superb portability.

The SD5 also introduces the new USB Host function that significantly improves data storage and playback ease. Using DVD burner VW-BN1, which has been released at the same time, users can copy or playback video recordings in the original AVCHD format, and enjoy easy high-definition viewing on a large-screen TV.

The hybrid SX5 can record up to 180 minutes of video on an 8GB SDHC Memory Card (a feature available starting September 2007), and up to 60 minutes on a DVD-R dual-layer disc. Using both media, the SX5 can capture up to 240 minutes of full-HD recording.

The SX5 can also copy recorded video from an SDHC/SD Memory Card to an 8cm DVD disc internally with the touch of a single button - no personal computer is required - and the recording format can be selected at the start of each recording. Users can also enjoy the video on DVD disc in standard definition (MPEG2) to play it back with a DVD recorder/player.

"With these cutting-edge imaging technologies combined with full 1920 x 1080-pixel definition, the SD5 and SX5 make it easy to capture video recordings that are distinctly stunning when viewed on big-screen HD TV. Panasonic has brought new meaning to the camcorder experience with the new models' unparalleled image quality, versatility, high functionality, portability and ease of use," concluded Kimoto.
